The History of Calder Rugby

The Club History

Calder Rugby was created to bring an inclusive policy of involving the whole community in active healthy pusuits. The founding members sought to open rugby to local people, who could not afford the private club fees charged in the near vicinity.

It grew with the help of the charity Active4All, and in the summer of 2006, became the newest rugby club to join the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU). During the summer of 2006, its aim to recruit players, and attract people into sport, began successfully with a poster campaign.

Calder Rugby begin their competitive aim to win the West League 3 in September 2006
