Calder RFC – About US
Calder RFC was founded in 2006 with the specific principle of attracting new players to game in the areas of Coatbridge, Bellshill, Mossend, Viewpark, Birkenshaw and beyond.
Lanarkshire, having such a fervent support for the association game, has for some years now failed to appreciate the pleasures of Rugby Union. The founding fathers of the club, having such a visionary approach to the development of the game of Rugby Football seek to redress this balance in the future by making sure that the provision of a competitive platform is available for those who wish to have the opportunity to play the game.
On the broader spectrum our governing body seeks to foster the development of other sports and our basketball team will be training over the summer months in preparation for their entry to competitive competition.
We are currently making plans and provision for our foray into the competitive leagues next season in which we will travel to exotic locations such as Islay, Mid Argyll and Stonehouse in pursuit of the West 3 league title.
